Five years later, X-WATERS returns to Austria to the beautiful Wertersee Lake!
This is a great opportunity to combine a serious challenge with everyday comfort and a luxurious cultural program.
The stunning location is Lake Wertersee, the most popular lake in Austria.
A unique reservoir where clear clear water from Alpine glaciers warms up to a comfortable temperature of 20-24 degrees. Drinking-quality water, including due to the fact that almost all motor vehicles are prohibited on the lake, the inevitable smell of gasoline at most starts will not even be from escort boats.

The swim includes a 17 km route with an end–to-end crossing of the lake and, attention, a 34 (!) km round-trip route. This is the longest one-day start in the X-WATERS series, unique, including for Europe.

Excellent geographical location and infrastructure of the place: within three hours after the swim, you can listen to Mozart at the Vienna Opera or ride a gondola along the Grand Canal in Venice.

1,5 k - The distance is for everyone! Here everyone can prove their strength in open water swimming!. The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town.
3 k - Swimmers and triathletes can compete here! The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.
5 k - Is a distance for trained swimmers that will take you along a beautiful route on Lake Werthersee! The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.
10 k - Is a distance for trained swimmers who want to test their abilities! The route follows the 5 km distance scheme, but is covered twice. There is an assistance point along the route. They are offered: isotonics, gels, energy bars and bananas. The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.
17 k - Is an open water distance for experienced swimmers who want to conquer Lake Wertersee! The route runs along the coast. There are three help points (boats) for swimmers on the route. They are offered: isotonics, gels, energy bars and bananas. The start is in Felden am Wertersee / Schlosshotel, the finish is in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.
34 k solo - Is a distance for extreme swimmers! An individual escort in the form of a boat will be provided for each Participant, which will adjust to the pace of the swimmer. One escort is allowed on this boat. Meals are provided from the boat. Meals: isotonics, gels, energy bars and bananas can be taken with you. Of course, you can take individual meals with you. The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.
34 k duet - Is a distance for two Participants. The change of swimmers can only take place in the water. The swimmer is on an auxiliary boat during the break. A swimmer in the water must swim for at least one hour (pauses in the water are allowed). The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.
1 k butterfly - Is a challenge for ambitious swimmers who want to overcome the distance of 1000 m butterfly. The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town.
3 k - Swimmers and triathletes can compete here! The start and finish are located in the area of the starting town. You can decide whether to take part in a wetsuit or not.

Lake Wertersee is one of the pearls of Austria, which attracts tourists with its mesmerizing panorama, hospitable beaches, the splendor of Alpine peaks and the serene tranquility of clear water. The lake is located at an altitude of 485 meters in the heart of Carinthia, a region that borders Italy and Slovenia. The climate here is warm, very mild, almost Mediterranean. In September, as usual, the water remains warmed up to 20-24 C, depending on the year.
Convenient infrastructure and beautiful landscapes have made Werthersee the most popular holiday destination in Austria and Germany. There is a busy life here, filled with sports events, festivals and outdoor activities. The lake is surrounded by eight resort towns, each with something to see. They are Austrian-style well-groomed and cozy, while each has its own character. The most famous are Felden and Klagenfurt. It is between them that the main distance of 17 km will stretch. Don't forget to look around while you're sailing!
