Kotor Bay‑ is the southernmost fjord of Europe. It offers quite warm, and what is important, calm water and stunning picturesque views‑ both from the water and from the surrounding mountains. Distances of 7 and 4.5 km go between two rival islands: St. George with the Benedictine abbey, and “Gospa od Škrpjela” (Our Lady of the Rocks) - the only man-made Adriatic island.

Distances of 7 and 4.5 km go between two rival islands: St. George with the Benedictine abbey, and “Gospa od Škrpjela” (Our Lady of the Rocks) - the only man-made Adriatic island.
This island was built by the inhabitants of the city of Perast as opposed to the domination of neighboring Kotor, from the shipwrecks and stones delivered by passing by vessels as a "tax". The Church of the Mother of God on the island is‑ one of the main attractions of the bay.

X-WATERS Montenegro distances:
7000 m Participants will start at Risan beach from the starting camp. They will move towards the island of Our Lady of the Rocks, passing buoys on the left (the buoy should appear on your right). They will swim between the islands of St. George and Our Lady of the Rocks, making a complete round around the second island, and will go back passing buoys on the left (the buoy should appear on your right). Start and finish are in the same place at Risan beach.
4500 m Participants gather in the starting camp at the Risan beach. Then they will be delivered by bus to the starting point in Perast. They start from the beach.
After the start, the participants will move towards the islands. They swim between the islands, turn and make a full round around Our Lady of the Rocks island and swim towards the finish. The finish is at Risan beach.
1860 m (one nautical mile) Participants will start at Risan beach from the starting camp. They will move in a triangle passing buoys on the left (the buoy should appear on your right). Start and finish are in the same place.
50 m и 200 m Сhildren swim.Participants swim to the buoy, pass the buoy on the left (the buoy should appear on your right) and swim toward the shore. Start and finish are in the same place at Risan beach.
Control time for distances:1860 m - 1.5 hours; 4500 m - 2 hours; 7000 m- 4 hours; 50 m- 5 minutes; 200 m- 10 minutes.
Bay of Kotor combines the incompatible: Scandinavian steepness of the southernmost fjord of Europe, warm Adriatic water, ancient, Byzantine and Venetian heritage, insane Balkan heap of cultures and languages, cheese, Vranac and fresh seafood, folk dances in bars and UNESCO monuments, as well as super convenient logistics (direct flights from Russia, no visa required).
This place has attracted people since antiquity, the first settlements here belong to the Neolithic era, and the first city appeared in 229 BC‑ just at the place of modern Risan, where we start and where we finish.
For more than two thousand years of history, the bay belonged to Illyrians and Dalmatians, Rome and Byzantium, Serbs and Bulgarians, Bosnians and Hungarians, the French empire and the Austrian crown, repelled the Ottomans and equally competed with Venice as the center of Mediterranean trade.
