What's the challenge?
wimming around a nuclear power plant?! Sounds threatening, but don't jump to conclusions! We have studied the issue well and are confident that it is not only perfectly safe, but also very cool! The radiation background in the city and in the reservoir is constantly monitored, and it is much lower here than in Moscow!
That being said! The purity of water is better than any words evidenced by the richest underwater world of the reservoir, including not only trout and sturgeon, but also Mozambican tilapia, African catfish and even Japanese freshwater shrimp. All of them were brought here by people and took good use due to the fact that the Smolensk NPP heats water in the reservoir all year round and even in winter the temperature does not fall below 12 degrees. In October, we count on 18-20 C!
The reservoir is surrounded by forests, which, just by the beginning of October, will be painted in bright autumn colors and appear in their most elegant look.
And this is the unique feature of the start: this is not an extension of the summer for which we are going to the seas, it is the warmest Indian summer that you can find!

Desnogorsk is one of the youngest Russian cities, a hidden gem among the forests of Smolensk region. A sports city, the birthplace of the "100 km in 24 hours" ski marathon, and their reservoir is the place of dragon races, and now also... an ideal place for swimmers! Uniquely warm, at any time of the year. A huge clean lens of water surrounded by beautiful Russian landscapes. A place of tourist and training camps for children and teenagers. Clean water and nature attract divers and underwater hunters. A modern open-air museum - the Mound of Glory - is a place of memory and a museum of equipment with a fantastic view of the water. The holy spring and the font hidden in the forests near the city - a place of strength, faith and tranquility, you can not help but visit! Climbing wall on the shore of the lake - a gathering place for many climbers and a unique opportunity to "hang out" like adults under the guidance of experienced instructors. The Museum Estate of Glinka is a cultural heritage object and a place of history and music. A walk through the estate will take you back to the history of the 19th century.
