What's the challenge?
Cross the largest river in Siberia, leaving endless taiga forests on one side, and the industrial center of Siberian oil production on the other. The harsh land of snowy winters and full-flowing rivers will test your technical and moral readiness for the main swimming challenge of this region.
Khanty-Mansiysk is the capital of Russian largest oil and gas region. It is a cozy and comfortable city for living, which has become a center of culture and sports with modern infrastructure and traditions. However, 20 years ago it looked like a small and quiet northern town with wooden houses.
The Ob with the Irtysh is the longest river system in Russia, we know this fact from school textbooks. From the source of the Irtysh – to the mouth of the Ob (into which it flows) = 5410 km.
We offer you to swim one-hundredth distance, 54 km, and it is through the point of confluence of the Irtysh and the Ob.
This can only be done in Khanty-Mansiysk. No one has done this yet. And it will be really difficult: the flow speed in the Irtysh can reach 5 km / hour, and the width of the Ob at the confluence is 3 km. This is a real Siberian power, with which you will need to make friends and negotiate. In general, this adventure is really not for everyone.

6 km - Before the start, participants are taken by bus to the starting point. Everyone starts from the sandy beach of the city's fish hatchery. Then they move towards the finish line, focusing on coastal landmarks and marker navigation buoys.
10 km - Before the start, the participants are delivered by motor ship to the starting point. Participants start from the Dacha pier, move along navigation buoys. The passing side of the buoys is not necessary, they are waymarks. The finish of all three distances is located in the “Water Gates of the City” - this is the river station. For more than three centuries, the only type of transport for those who wanted to get into the city was the river transport. This is the landmark and historical place for the citizens, where the main part of the event will take place.
54 km - Participants start from one of the sights of the city - the Red Dragon Bridge, moving along the coastline with individual accompaniment. The swim is unique because one part of the distance goes along Irtysh another part goes along Ob. The finish line is in the village of Bogdashka, which is famous for its farming.
Khanty-Mansiysk is the capital of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra. The picturesque taiga town on the banks of the Irtysh is perfectly landscaped. This is one of the oldest cities in Western Siberia, this year it turns 440 years old. People often call it “the capital of skiing, biathlon and chess”, the New Year's capital of Siberia and “little Switzerland. In addition to the swim, you can have fun visiting the main attractions: the “Archeopark'' consisting of eminent bronze mammoths, the “Nature and Man” museum, which houses the skeleton of a trogontherium elephant, the predecessor of a mammoth that lived on the Earth three million years ago, the ethnographic museum “Torum Maa ”, an open-air rope park-museum will tell about the life, life and traditions of the northern peoples, visit beautiful parks and taste local fish delicacies, berries and mushrooms. The swim will take place during the World Chess Olympiad
